How is Mikros Clothing sustainable?

  • We use natural, eco-friendly fabrics such as linen, cotton, wool, hemp and Tencel. Important things to consider when choosing fabrics is the growing and production process, as well as, end of life disposal. Check out our fabric files to learn more.
  • Small ranges and production runs. You won't see us dropping new collections every week! We want to provide our customers with well fitting, high quality garments to last a life time!
  • Manufacturing in Australia where waste, utility consumption and working conditions are all managed appropriately. Our manufacturer, Sample Room, is based in Melbourne and holds an accreditation from Ethical Clothing Australia.

ethics

/ˈɛθɪks/
noun
    1. moral principles that govern a person's behaviour or the conducting of an activity.
    2. the branch of knowledge that deals with moral principles.

How is Mikros Clothing ethical?

Instead of asking why fashion is so expensive, we should be asking why is it so cheap.

At Mikros Clothing, we believe that humanity should not have to pay the price of fashion. Garment workers are often exploited. They are grossly under paid and forced to work in unsafe conditions. As mentioned above, our manufacturer holds an accreditation with Ethical Clothing Australia. This means that our garment workers are being paid appropriately, receiving all relevant entitlements, and working under safe conditions. Please see below for some behind the scenes photos. These are the faces behind our garments.
